Food Poisoning by Botulism

Hello once again. I have thought of sharing to you what I have read about the subject Poison. We have to consider that most of us are very much busy in our day to day activities and sometimes cannot have the time to lock in in a safety place chemicals that we use in cleaning the different things we have inside the house. These oversight may led to accidental intake by our children of these chemicals and poison them. Food likewise may sometimes contain substances that might led to adverse effect if we happen to eat them.


Let me deal first with Food Poisoning. Inasmuch as food is taken into the digestive system, the absorbing capacity of the mucos membrane can easily effect poisoning of the body in cases were poisonous substances are in the food that we eat. Foods from animals might contain toxic substances as these animals might have eaten poisonous leaves, or roots from unedible plants and thus would be contained in the meat that
we consume.Improperly refrigerated and contaminated foods, or improperly cooked food from cans with bacteria spores can led to food poisoning.


The most serious type of food poisoning is by botulism. This is caused by a germ known as Clostridium botuliniom. This kind of germ is present on
gardens, farms and can be found on all types of vegetables. Freshly harvested vegetables with this germ are not toxic to the body. Poisoning capabilities of these germ takes time. They make vegetables toxic after a period of time when the vegetables are not properly stored and if they are improperly canned.


Signs of canned vegetables already containing this toxins are bulging cans, smelly and off colored contents. These should never be eaten or tasted.



Symptoms of having eaten food with these toxins will appear 12 to 18 hours after digesting them. These are double vision, loss of vision, difficulty in
talking and swallowing. Organs of the body will suffer heavily from the toxins produced by this germ. Death occurs in 70 % of untreated cases.


Victims of this kind of food poisoning should be given medical care at once.
If anti toxin to this kind of poisoning can be given immediately it will preclude the victim's organ from being damaged.
